atelierele scânteia
AteliereleScanteia are the initiative of two visual artists, Dani Ghercă and Michele Bressan, who, under the aegis of Switch Lab, set up the project. After Switch Lab had operated for five years in the Palatul Universul building as a platform dedicated to the promotion of different artistic practices, in 2023 it was decided to relocate it to the Casa Presei Libere building. Once the new location and the implementation of the project was established, a true artistic community was formed, both in terms of workshops and dedicated exhibition spaces. Today, Atelierele Scânteia host 16 distinct spaces, three of which are dedicated to exhibitions, a curatorial area and a segment devoted to the Galeria Posibilă, as well as 11 individual ateliers. More than just a project, Atelierele Scânteia are emerging as a dynamic force determined to revitalise Casa Presei Libere. Adopting the concept of open studios, they not only serve as a bridge between the public, artists and art itself, but also position this building as an indispensable component of the Bucharest cultural circuit, through a deep connection with an emblematic historical edifice. As Atelierele Scânteia continue to evolve, they go beyond the definition of mere physical spaces, standing out as a testament to the dedication and ingenuity of their resident artists.
